Rule reminder
When completing a story with an idiom, consider: (1) the emotional tone of the narrative, (2) the logical consequence of the described events, (3) whether the idiom is appropriate for the speaker and situation. Idioms must fit naturally — forced or approximate fits are wrong.
La situazione finanziaria dell'azienda era critica. Dovevano tagliare i costi o chiudere. Il direttore disse: 'Non ci piace, ma dobbiamo ___. Usiamo questa crisi per riorganizzarci meglio.'
