Rule reminder
'Andare + past participle' expresses obligation or necessity — something that MUST be done or MUST NOT be done. It is stronger and more formal than 'dovere essere + pp'. Examples: 'va fatto' = it must be done, 'va rispettato' = it must be respected, 'va evitato' = it must be avoided. Negation: 'non va fatto' = it must not be done. This structure is common in written/formal Italian.
How does 'va fatto' differ from 'viene fatto'?
