💡

Rule reminder

At B2 level, adjective and adverb false friends become more subtle. 'Definitivamente' in Italian means 'permanently / for good', NOT 'definitely' (which is 'sicuramente' or 'certamente'). 'Formidabile' can mean 'formidable' but more often means 'wonderful/fantastic' in modern Italian. Context and register determine the right interpretation.
