Rule reminder

Italian has many fixed absolute expressions derived from absolute constructions. Common ones: 'detto questo / detto ciò' (having said this), 'vista la situazione' (given the situation), 'fatte le debite considerazioni' (having made the necessary considerations), 'tutto sommato' (all things considered), 'tutto considerato' (all things considered), 'premesso che' (given that / having stated that), 'stante la situazione' (given the situation). These are frozen phrases used in formal speech and writing.
