Rule reminder

'Nonostante' = despite / although. When followed by a clause with a different subject, it requires the SUBJUNCTIVE. When followed by a noun phrase, no verb is needed: 'Nonostante la pioggia...' When the subject is the same in both clauses, use 'nonostante' + infinitive or 'pur' + gerundio.
