Italian word

tornare

to return, to go back, to come back

Looks like

to turn

to rotate; to change direction

⚠️ The trap

'Tornare' = to return, not to turn. To turn a corner say 'girare' or 'svoltare'. 'Torna!' = 'Come back!' To turn around = 'girarsi'. Completely different from English 'turn'.

To say "to rotate; to change direction" in Italian:

girare, svoltare (for to turn)

"tornare" in English means:

to return, to go back, to come back

Example

"Torno a casa alle sette di sera."

"I come back home at seven in the evening."
