Italian word

contare

to count, to matter, to rely on

Looks like

to count / to contact

to enumerate; to number

⚠️ The trap

The counting meaning is shared. But 'contare' also means to matter ('quello che conta è la salute' = 'what matters is health') and to rely on ('contare su qualcuno'). Richer than just counting numbers.

To say "to enumerate; to number" in Italian:

contare is correct

"contare" in English means:

to count, to matter, to rely on

Example

"Puoi contare su di me in qualsiasi momento."

"You can count on me at any time."
