Italian word

sensibile

sensitive (physically or emotionally); perceptible

Looks like

sensible

reasonable, having good judgment

⚠️ The trap

A very common false friend. 'Sensibile' = sensitive, not sensible. If you say 'Sei molto sensibile' to a doctor, you mean they are emotionally sensitive — not that they are reasonable.

To say "reasonable, having good judgment" in Italian:

ragionevole, sensato (for sensible)

"sensibile" in English means:

sensitive (physically or emotionally); perceptible

Example

"Ho la pelle molto sensibile ai prodotti chimici."

"I have very sensitive skin to chemicals."
