Rule reminder

Formal opinion and hedging expressions in argumentative Italian require the subjunctive: 'ritengo che', 'sono convinto che', 'è possibile che', 'sembra che', 'è indubbio che', 'è innegabile che', 'non è da escludere che'. After 'sebbene', 'benché', 'affinché', 'perché (= so that)', the subjunctive is mandatory. After 'come è noto', 'è ovvio che' (factual assertions), the indicative is used.
