Rule reminder
Every sentence in an argumentative text has a function: presenting the thesis, adding an argument, providing evidence/example, conceding a point, refuting an opposing view, hedging, or drawing a conclusion. Recognising these functions helps you both read argumentative texts critically and write more effectively.
