Rule reminder

Formal Italian uses specific discourse markers to connect ideas: 'a tal proposito' (in this regard), 'a questo riguardo' (on this matter), 'con riferimento a quanto sopra' (with reference to the above), 'pertanto' (therefore), 'laddove' (whereas/where). These replace colloquial connectors like 'comunque', 'quindi', 'per questo'.
