Rule reminder
Academic Italian uses: impersonal constructions ('si osserva', 'emerge che', 'si evince'), cautious hedging ('sembrerebbe', 'si ipotizza che'), precise disciplinary vocabulary, complex subordinate structures, and the avoidance of first-person singular. Academic writing also uses nominalisations and prefers 'il presente studio', 'l'analisi condotta', 'i dati raccolti'.
