Discourse Connectives — Connettivi Discorsivi·Logical Relationships in Argumentative Paragraphs
💡

Rule reminder

Discourse connectives signal logical relationships: causality (poiché, in quanto), consequence (pertanto, quindi), concession (tuttavia, ciononostante), addition (inoltre, altresì), contrast (mentre, d'altro canto), reformulation (vale a dire, ovvero), and exemplification (ad esempio, per esempio). Identifying the relationship BEFORE choosing a connective is the key B2 skill.
