Rule reminder

Review: Imperfetto for background, ongoing, or habitual past weather (faceva, pioveva, era nuvoloso, c'era nebbia). Passato prossimo for specific, completed events (è piovuto, ha fatto caldo ieri, c'è stato un temporale). The two tenses work together in narratives: background (imperfetto) + event (passato prossimo).
