Rule reminder

In conversations about past weather: use imperfetto when describing what the weather was like as a condition or scene (com'era il tempo? — faceva freddo, era nuvoloso); use passato prossimo when reporting what happened (cos'è successo? — è piovuto, c'è stato un temporale). Questions like 'Com'era?' → imperfetto answers; 'Cosa è successo?' → passato prossimo answers.
