Italian word

raro

rare, uncommon

Looks like

rare (meat)

undercooked (for steak); uncommon

⚠️ The trap

'Raro' does mean rare in the sense of uncommon. But for a rare steak, Italians say 'al sangue' (bloody). Saying 'bistecca rara' would confuse an Italian waiter.

To say "undercooked (for steak); uncommon" in Italian:

al sangue (for rare steak)

"raro" in English means:

rare, uncommon

Example

"Questa specie di farfalla è molto rara."

"This species of butterfly is very rare."
