⚠️ The trap
Same meaning, but English has two words: 'candidiasis' (clinical) and 'thrush' (lay term). Italian only uses 'candidosi'. Saying 'thrush' to an Italian speaker will cause confusion — they may think of the bird ('tordo'). Use 'candidosi' in Italy.
To say "same" in Italian:
candidosi (correct)
"candidosi" in English means:
candidiasis, thrush (fungal infection)
Example
"Gli antibiotici possono favorire l'insorgenza della candidosi."
"Antibiotics can encourage the onset of candidiasis."
