Italian word

mozione

a formal motion in parliament

Looks like

motion

movement; a formal proposal in a meeting or legislature

⚠️ The trap

'Mozione' in Italian is almost exclusively a parliamentary/legal term. For physical movement, Italians use 'movimento' or 'moto'. Saying 'la mozione del treno' for train movement would be wrong.

To say "movement; a formal proposal in a meeting or legislature" in Italian:

mozione

"mozione" in English means:

a formal motion in parliament

Example

"Il partito ha presentato una mozione di sfiducia."

"The party tabled a motion of no confidence."
