ministro

a government minister (cabinet member)

Looks like

minister

a government minister; a religious minister/pastor

⚠️ The trap

In Italian, 'ministro' almost exclusively refers to a government minister. A religious minister/pastor is 'pastore' or 'sacerdote'. English speakers in Italy sometimes call priests 'ministro', which sounds strange.

To say "a government minister; a religious minister/pastor" in Italian:

ministro

"ministro" in English means:

a government minister (cabinet member)

Example

"Il Ministro dell'Interno ha convocato una conferenza stampa."

"The Interior Minister called a press conference."
