Looks like
interest
attention, curiosity; financial interest; a legal right
⚠️ The trap
Largely equivalent, but 'avere interesse a fare qualcosa' means to have a reason/motivation to do something (it is in your interest), not simply to be curious about it.
To say "attention, curiosity; financial interest; a legal right" in Italian:
interesse (interest rate/curiosity); interessi (interests/stakes)
"interesse" in English means:
interest (financial); interest/curiosity; benefit/stake
Example
"Il tasso di interesse è salito al tre percento."
"The interest rate rose to three percent."
