⚠️ The trap
Circolare is used more broadly in Italian than English 'circular'. As a verb it means to move around or circulate. The police instruction 'circolare!' (move along!) is very common — it does not mean 'be circular'.
To say "shaped like a circle; a printed advertisement sent to many people" in Italian:
circolare (mostly equivalent, extra meanings as verb and memo)
"circolare" in English means:
circular (adjective); a memo or bulletin (noun); to circulate/move around (verb)
Example
"La polizia ha ordinato di non circolare dopo mezzanotte."
"The police ordered people not to move about after midnight."
