Rule reminder

An Italian argumentative essay (testo argomentativo) has three parts: (1) Introduzione — present the topic, its relevance, and your thesis using 'Il tema di...', 'Negli ultimi anni...', 'La questione di...'; (2) Sviluppo — present arguments for/against with connectives; (3) Conclusione — synthesize and state your final position with 'In conclusione', 'Alla luce di quanto esposto', 'In definitiva'. Each section has distinct language functions.
