Argumentative Text — Testo Argomentativo·Editorial Language vs Academic Essay Language
💡

Rule reminder

Italian EDITORIAL writing is direct, emotionally engaged, uses first person (singular or plural), shorter sentences, rhetorical devices, and implicit judgements. Italian ACADEMIC writing is impersonal (impersonale si, passive, third person), hedged ('sembrerebbe', 'i dati suggeriscono'), citation-based, structurally explicit ('in primo luogo', 'a conclusione'), and avoids emotional appeals. Mixing registers undermines credibility in both contexts.
