Rule reminder
Italian has strong register stratification. The same concept expressed at four levels: COLLOQUIAL → NEUTRAL → FORMAL → VERY FORMAL. Examples: 'roba' → 'cosa' → 'elemento' → 'fattore'; 'tirarsi su' → 'riprendersi' → 'ristabilirsi' → 'guarire'. In formal writing, avoiding colloquialisms and choosing the right register is as important as grammar.
