At B2 level, formal Italian comprehension requires parsing complex, multi-clause sentences typical of legal, administrative, and academic documents. Key strategies: (1) identify the main clause (often at the end of a long sentence); (2) parse 'di cui' (= referred to in / mentioned), 'salvo' (= unless / except), 'fatto salvo' (= subject to), 'fermo restando' (= it being understood that); (3) recognise chains of nominalised verbs; (4) trace pronoun and relative clause antecedents across long sentences.
