Rule reminder

Augmentatives express large size or intensity: -one/-ona (masculine ending becomes -one regardless of original gender: la donna → il donnone = big woman). Pejoratives express contempt or poor quality: -accio/-accia (tempo → tempaccio = awful weather; parola → parolaccia = swear word), -astro/-astra (poet→ poetastro = hack poet, mediocre poet).
