Rule reminder

In formal/legal Italian reported speech: use passive constructions ('si è dichiarato che', 'è stato comunicato che'), nominalization ('l'affermazione secondo cui'), appropriate formal verbs (dichiarare, affermare, asserire, attestare, certificare, confermare). The subjunctive is more frequent in formal written Italian than in spoken registers.
