Rule reminder

Journalistic reported speech in Italian uses specific verbs (affermare, sostenere, dichiarare, precisare, aggiungere, ribadire) and distancing expressions (secondo X, a parere di X, stando alle dichiarazioni di X). These often use the indicative rather than subjunctive, especially in newspaper style.
