Discourse Connectives — Connettivi Discorsivi·Journalistic Argumentation
💡

Rule reminder

Journalistic Italian uses connectives to guide readers through arguments clearly and dynamically. The register is formal but more direct than academic writing. Key tools: 'eppure' (and yet — introduces a surprising contrast), 'peraltro' (moreover — adds a nuance), 'tant'è che' (so much so that — introduces a clinching example), 'basti pensare che' (just consider that — introduces a concrete illustration), 'in altri termini' (in other terms — reformulates for clarity).
