Rule reminder
Cause connectives vary in register and position. 'Poiché' (since/because) is formal and typically opens the clause. 'Giacché' (since/seeing that) is literary and slightly archaic. 'Dal momento che' (since/given that) is neutral-formal. 'Dato che' / 'Visto che' are more informal. 'In quanto' is very formal and often used in official/legal writing — it follows the main clause. 'A causa di' is a prepositional phrase (followed by a noun). All introduce the reason BEFORE or AFTER the consequence.
