Rule reminder

English does not use the subjunctive as systematically as Italian. When translating, identify: (1) the main verb and whether it expresses wish, doubt, emotion, or necessity; (2) whether the subject changes; (3) the time relationship between the clauses. These three factors determine the correct Italian subjunctive tense.
