Rule reminder

In journalism and media, the subjunctive frequently appears after: verbs of reporting with uncertainty (si dice che, si vocifera che, si teme che), after 'nonostante' and 'sebbene' in formal analysis, and after verbs of institutional communication (il governo afferma che + indicative vs si ritiene che + subjunctive). Recognising which verbs carry certainty vs uncertainty is key.
