Rule reminder
Register matters in Italian collocations. 'Sostenere un esame' is formal/academic. 'Fare un esame' is informal/everyday. Similarly: 'commettere un errore' (formal) vs 'fare un errore' (informal). 'Esercitare una professione' (formal) vs 'fare il/la + profession' (informal).
In a university regulations document: 'Lo studente dovrà ________ tre esami entro giugno.'
