Italian has many idioms based on animals and nature. 'Prendere due piccioni con una fava' (two birds, one stone), 'non avere peli sulla lingua' (blunt speaker), 'cavare il ragno dal buco' (get something useful out of a situation), 'fare il pelo e il contropelo' (scrutinise), 'mettere il carro davanti ai buoi' (put the cart before the horse) are essential B1 expressions.
