Use present tense for ongoing/current ability: 'Ce la faccio.' Use passato prossimo for a completed achievement: 'Ce l'ho fatta.' Context words like 'oggi', 'adesso' suggest present; 'ieri', 'già', 'alla fine' suggest past.
