Italian word

supporto

support (technical support, physical support/stand)

Looks like

support

support (help, backing, physical structure)

⚠️ The trap

Looks identical, but 'supporto' in Italian is more formal/written. In casual speech Italians also use 'assistenza'. 'Supporto emotivo' = emotional support is valid, but 'supportare' a sports team sounds unnatural — use 'tifare per'.

To say "support (help, backing, physical structure)" in Italian:

N/A

"supporto" in English means:

support (technical support, physical support/stand)

Example

"Ho contattato il supporto tecnico per il problema con il software."

"I contacted technical support about the software issue."
