Italian word
dimissioni
discharge from hospital; also resignation (from a job)
Looks like
dismissal
being fired; or treating something as unimportant
⚠️ The trap
In a hospital context, 'dimissioni' means being discharged/released — not dismissed. Outside hospital it means resignation. English 'dismissal' is more negative (fired or rejected). Very different connotations.
To say "being fired; or treating something as unimportant" in Italian:
dimissioni dall'ospedale (hospital discharge)
"dimissioni" in English means:
discharge from hospital; also resignation (from a job)
Example
"Le dimissioni sono previste per domani mattina."
"The discharge is scheduled for tomorrow morning."
