Italian word

valuta

currency (money of a country); also: value date in banking

Looks like

value

the importance or worth of something

⚠️ The trap

'Valuta' means currency, not value. The word for value is 'valore'. In bank statements 'data valuta' means the value date (when a transaction is effective), not the date something was valued.

To say "the importance or worth of something" in Italian:

valuta (currency); valore (value/worth)

"valuta" in English means:

currency (money of a country); also: value date in banking

Example

"Il dollaro è la valuta di riserva mondiale."

"The dollar is the world reserve currency."
