B1💼 Business
Italian word
società
company, corporation; society (social group)
Looks like
society
the community of people living together; a social organisation
⚠️ The trap
'Società' means both 'society' and 'company'. In business Italian 'società' is the standard legal term for a company (S.r.l., S.p.A., etc.). English speakers might miss this and use only 'compagnia' or 'azienda'.
To say "the community of people living together; a social organisation" in Italian:
società (company/corporation); società (society)
"società" in English means:
company, corporation; society (social group)
Example
"Ho costituito una nuova società a responsabilità limitata."
"I set up a new limited liability company."
