Italian word

importo

amount (of money), sum

Looks like

import

goods brought into a country from abroad; the importance of something

⚠️ The trap

'Importo' means the monetary amount, NOT import/importation. Confusing these in an invoice or contract is a serious error. 'Importazione' is the correct word for importing goods.

To say "goods brought into a country from abroad; the importance of something" in Italian:

importo (amount/sum); importazione (import of goods)

"importo" in English means:

amount (of money), sum

Example

"L'importo totale della fattura è di tremila euro."

"The total amount of the invoice is three thousand euros."
