⚠️ The trap
Corretto means correct — but in a bar context, 'un caffè corretto' means a coffee 'corrected' with a shot of alcohol (grappa, sambuca, etc.). Do not be surprised when your 'correct coffee' arrives with spirits in it.
To say "right, accurate, free from error" in Italian:
corretto (mostly equivalent, but note the coffee meaning)
"corretto" in English means:
correct, right; also a coffee with a shot of liquor
Example
"Un caffè corretto con la sambuca, per favore."
"A coffee with a shot of sambuca, please."
