Cultural Note
Technically vulgar (referring to testicles), but so widely used across Italy that it has lost much of its shock value. In Southern Italy it's heard constantly to express boredom, frustration, or annoyance. Parents may scold children for saying it, but most adults use it freely. It's the Italian equivalent of 'this sucks.'
