Can I receive a copy of the receipt?
'Ricevere' — ri-CHE-ve-re. Four syllables.
Ask when you lose a receipt or when you need a duplicate. In Italy, shops can reprint receipts from their fiscal register for recent transactions. For older receipts, they may need to check archival records.
'Ricevere una copia' = to receive a copy. 'Dello scontrino' = of the receipt ('dello' = di + lo). Fiscal registers in Italy store receipt data and can reprint. The reprint is usually dated as a copy — the original issue date is preserved on the document.
