If I take two, will you give me a special price?
'Speciale' — 'spe-CHA-le'. Three syllables, stress on second. Soft 'c' before 'i/a'.
A classic multi-buy bargaining tactic. Works very well — Italian vendors prefer selling two items at a small discount rather than one at full price.
'Se ne prendo due' = if I take two of them. 'Ne' (of them) replaces the already-mentioned item. 'Mi fa un prezzo speciale?' = will you make me a special price? A complete and powerful negotiating phrase.
Ne prendo tre — mi fa il prezzo giusto?
I'll take three — will you give me the right price?
'Il prezzo giusto' = the right price — elegant Italian phrasing
Se compro tutto, quanto mi fa?
If I buy everything, how much do you charge?
Wholesale offer — works when buying a lot from one vendor
Facciamo un prezzo per il tutto?
Shall we make a price for everything?
Bundle pricing for multiple different items
Italian market vendors ('ambulanti') build genuine relationships with repeat customers. Mentioning you visit the same market regularly ('vengo spesso qui') can unlock better prices than any bargaining tactic.
