Welcome to our winery!
Cantina: kan-TEE-nah. In Italian, cantina means both wine cellar and winery.
You'll hear this when you arrive at a winery. Knowing it helps you respond naturally and sets a warm tone for the tasting.
Benvenuti is the plural welcome — addressed to a group. Benvenuto (m) or Benvenuta (f) for a single person. Cantina is the heart of any Italian wine estate.
Grazie per averci invitato.
Thank you for inviting us.
Polite response to the welcome.
Che bella cantina!
What a beautiful winery!
Immediate compliment — always appreciated.
Siamo felici di essere qui.
We're happy to be here.
Warm, friendly acknowledgement.
Italian winery visits (visite in cantina) are intimate affairs — you often taste directly with the owner or winemaker. This personal connection is a key part of the experience and distinguishes Italian wine tourism from larger commercial operations.
