Rule reminder

Italian formal letters follow a precise structure: (1) Luogo e data, (2) Intestazione (Spett.le / Egregio / Gentile), (3) Oggetto, (4) Opening formula (In riferimento a / Con la presente...), (5) Body, (6) Closing formula (In attesa di un Suo cortese riscontro... / Distinti saluti / Cordiali saluti). The level of formality depends on the relationship: 'Distinti saluti' is more formal than 'Cordiali saluti'; 'Egregio' is used for men, 'Gentile' for either gender.
