Rule reminder

Formal Italian strongly prefers the passive voice to avoid attributing actions to specific agents, creating an objective, impersonal tone. Passive is formed with 'essere + past participle' (e.g., 'La domanda è stata approvata') or with 'venire + past participle' in present/imperfect (e.g., 'Il modulo viene compilato'). The impersonal 'si' passive is also common.
