'Nel momento in cui' = formal/written/legal/literary. 'Quando' = neutral/spoken. 'Non appena' = slightly more formal than 'appena', both = as soon as. 'Ogni volta che' neutral. 'Una volta che' = slightly more formal than 'quando' for thresholds.
