Rule reminder
Coordinated modal gerunds: two or more gerunds joined by 'e' or 'mentre' that together describe the manner of the main action. Example: 'Entrò correndo e ridendo' (he entered running and laughing — both describe HOW he entered). Rules: (1) All gerunds must refer to the same subject as the main verb; (2) They must all be simultaneous with the main action; (3) Perfect gerunds (avendo + participle) cannot be coordinated with present gerunds for simultaneous actions.
