Rule reminder

"Per quanto" means "however much / no matter how / although" and always requires the subjunctive. It can introduce a concessive clause about degree or quantity: "Per quanto studi, non riesce a capire" (No matter how much he studies, he can't understand). It is more formal than "anche se".
